Sleepless in Kinsale – The Entrepreneur Experience

30th March 2012- Mid way point at the Entrepreneur Experience and the ideas, energy and adrenalin are flowing. This unique event kicked off with an address by Jim Barry, Barry Group on the theme of; ‘It’s all about the Execution’. Commenting on the event Jim Barry said that “this event is bursting with ideas, enthusiasm and loads of good business plans and propositions. If we could harness the energy that’s here and transmit that to the wider business community in Ireland, we would be in a much better place in a very short time.”

Over 24 hours, 23 Emerging Entrepreneurs from all areas of business are being coached by 24 of Ireland’s most successful business leaders. Each of the 23 companies is at a different stage of development, including early stage, investor ready and companies ready to scale or grow. Companies participating include social media, SOCO Media; online platforms, CorcovadoID; eco cleaning products, Lilly’s Eco Clean; photoluminescent lighting, Glowroute; wireless systems design, Socowave and a candle company St Killian Candle Company.

It is very impressive to get such a group of business leaders to give up their weekend to nurture the new entrepreneurial groundswell!”

This year the Entrepreneur Experience has an international feel with Emerging Entrepreneurs coming from all over, like Brent Mattson, FormInsight who travelled from Dallas, Texas; Daniel Pardo, from Spain and New Zealander Brent Smith, Ardán Audio who travelled from Blackrock in Dublin. We also have participants from all parts of Ireland including Dublin, Clare, Galway, Kerry, Waterford and Cork.

The Entrepreneur Experience® is about fast tracking Entrepreneurs’ ideas and propositions into real business opportunities, encouraging growth, delivering jobs and ultimately being part of Ireland’s regeneration. With the right coaching many of the companies have or will go on to secure Enterprise Ireland HPSU funding. Developed by AxisBIC and driven by AxisBIC board member Jim Breen, this event is an exceptional opportunity for emerging entrepreneurs based in Ireland or abroad.

The Event took place in a closed session on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st of March 2012 at the Trident Hotel, Kinsale, Co. Cork.
