New Funding Sources for Start-Ups and SMEs


AxisBIC and AIB Bank are organising a brown-bag lunch event to inform Start-Ups and SMEs about the funding sources available to them and how they can be accessed.

Speakers from AIB are:

  • John O' Doherty, Regional Director AIB Cork Central
  • Eoin Gunn, Manager, AIB Business Centre
  • John O'Dwyer,  AIB SME Emerging Sector Specialist & Strategy

AIB will discuss in detail how the European Investment Fund (EIF) and the Risk Sharing Instrument (RSI) along with AIB will be supporting innovative SMEs. AIB has taken the lead in being the first bank in Ireland to offer Risk Sharing Instrument backed loans to innovative businesses primarily operating in the knowledge and smart economy sectors.


Michael O'Connor, AxisBIC will look at the myriad of funding sources available including, private investment, grants, seed capital schemes, micro finance funds and many others.
