In October 2011, the 1st Going International Conference welcomed over 130 delegates who listened and debated with some outstanding International Entrepreneurs. Following their participation in last year’s event seven start-ups received Enterprise Ireland investment funding; three secured private equity investment; one was invited to present to 130 investors at London Business School and one other was chosen to participate in the Cork County/Cook County trade mission to Chicago. The development of this International Finance Conference has stemmed from numerous successful events that AxisBIC has organised. These include:

Going International Conference – Building a High Growth Company with Smart Investment (Ballymaloe, Cork, Oct 2011) – This event welcomed keynote speakers from across the globe and 130 delegates for a day of exploration, discussion, networking, discovery, insights and experiences

The Venture Academy® (Cork, Nov 2010 and July 2011) – This event, organised in conjunction with the Business Angel Partnership in the South West, gave companies and entrepreneurs an opportunity to receive coaching on investor readiness from International Business Angels and Industry Experts.

The Entrepreneur Experience® (Kinsale 2012 and Garryvoe, Apr 2011) – These evenst were a unique opportunity for Emerging Entrepreneurs to gain exclusive access and coaching from some of Ireland’s most successful Entrepreneurs over 24 hours. Elements were broadcast live on national radio (George Lee – The Business, RTE Radio1)

Going International Conference (Sophia-Antipolis, France, Nov 2009) – This event which was organised in conjunction with Sophia Business Angels and focussed on the Internationalisation of Investment and Companies. The ‘winning’ company Radisens Diagnostics received seed angel funding from Sophia Business Angels and has gone on to raise a series A round of funding from business Angels and VCs.
