The Entrepreneur Experience® 2012

23rd March 2012- The Entrepreneur Experience® is just one week away and this year the focus is all about defining a company’s Execution strategy. 70% of strategic failures are due to poor execution of leadership*. This year the participants will concentrate on defining their goals, how these are measured and turned into actions and results.

With over 35 outstanding applications we have had to increase the number of places for Emerging Entrepreneurs at the event from 21 to 23!

Some of those confirmed to participate include Transact Carbon, the PayPal for carbon credits. Set up by Mike O’Leary it is a global platform-as-a-service which allows developers to integrate carbon credits into any aspect of their app, games, consumer service or product. Ardán Audio, setup by New Zealander Brent Smith based in Blackrock, Dublin designs and manufactures unique speaker stands and audio isolation units which are sold across the globe from Nashville to Tokyo. David McCarthy who was made redundant in 2009 having worked as an environmental health and safety consultant founded Incidentcontrolroom.com. Based in Cork, his new start-up allows large companies to analyse emergency events more efficiently.

Looking forward to the event David McCarthy of Incidentcontrolroom.com commented that “our biggest challenges at the moment include funding and building a top class team. Getting the opportunity to pitch to an audience with that width of experience is incredibly exciting. With the likes of Liam Casey, Bill Liao, Jim Barry and Kevin O’Leary giving up 24 hours of their time it is impossible to measure the advice, coaching and knowledge that will be in the room.”

This year the Entrepreneur Experience has a decidedly international feel with some Emerging Entrepreneurs that are based outside of Ireland joining us for the 24 hours – they are from the US, the UK and Spain. We also have participants from all parts of Ireland including Dublin, Clare, Galway, Kerry, Waterford and Cork.

The Entrepreneur Experience® is about fast tracking Entrepreneurs’ ideas and propositions into real business opportunities, encouraging growth, delivering jobs and ultimately being part of Ireland’s regeneration. With the right coaching many of the companies will go on to secure Enterprise Ireland HPSU funding. Developed by AxisBIC and driven by AxisBIC board member Jim Breen, this event is an exceptional opportunity for emerging entrepreneurs based in Ireland or abroad.

The Event takes place in a closed session on the Friday 30th and Saturday 31st of March 2012 at the Trident Hotel, Kinsale, Co. Cork and applications are now closed.
