Investment Boost to Local Economy

Cork Chamber Chief Executive, Mr Conor Healy, today welcomed the announcement that approximately five hundred new jobs are to be created by two companies in the Cork region within the telecommunications and insurance sectors, through Option Wireless and Quinn Insurance.
Mr Healy said "Considering the current economic situation and the job losses being experienced throughout the country, this announcement of two significant projects in Cork is most welcome. It highlights the attractiveness of Cork for companies making significant investment decisions who require a quality skilled workforce, developed infrastructure and a supportive business environment".

"It is testament to the business opportunities which exist in Cork that Quinn Insurance, who have facilities across the country, have chosen Cork as the location for this key element of their operations. Credit is due to the management and staff of Quinn Healthcare based in Fermoy who were critical in endorsing Quinn Insurance's confidence in the region. In addition, the decision by Option Wireless to expand their existing operation in Cork also reflects highly on the capability and success of their existing site".
